Maggie at 3

In October, our Maggie turned three.

Maggie Grace-

I want to try and capture a picture of what you are like right now. This will be tough.  You and Jackson are so awesome and interesting, I know its impossible to try and remember everything about you but I’m going to try!

You are so much fun.  A few months ago you discovered Sofia the first and have been in princess mode ever since.  You like to wear princes dresses as much as you can, and I let you wear them almost anywhere.  You continue to LOVE all things baby.  You are so sweet and gentle with actual babies.  You’ve grown up a lot in the last couple of months.  In September you stopped using diapers and in October you stopped using pacis (this is a big deal)!  You had the idea to put all of your pacis in a gift bag to send to a baby who needs them.  You are such a big girl and you love reminding us of that and doing things “all by yourself”.  You love playing outside with your friends and school has been really fun this year (you go on Tuesday and Thursday mornings).  You talk a lot and we love it; it is so fun.  It seems like everyday you are surprising me with something you are saying.  You’re theatrical.  You take a while to fall asleep at night; you talk and sing and play in your crib for a while.  You are very expressive. You like to paint pictures for specific people, especially Daddy.  You are brave and confident and (mostly) independent.  I think you and me are pretty similar which is super fun but a little tricky sometimes!  You still take naps and you like puzzles.

We love you so much Maggie Grace!  You are a precious blessing!

You love….

having your hair french braided (specifically in one elsa braid)

(this is a little, or a lot, or embarrassingly late)

maggie is almost 16 months old, but better late than never right??!

at 12 months, maggie was working on crawling, pulling up in her crib, had survived mommy going away for a few nights, had a sleepover at pop and memaw’s, loved playing with her brother, loved her cup and table food, and was an all around joy!

    11 month maggie!

    Ok, 11 1/2 month maggie 😉

Our Maggie is getting so big. She says cup and daddy (instead of dada) and is learning to stack blocks and boy does she scoot around! No “real” crawling yet, just army crawling! Maggie is not a big fan of milk or formula but loves eating table food now! Maggie has her two front bottom teeth, and one front tooth (the other is on its way!)

maggie, you are a delight!  you are affectionate, funny, communicative, loving, boisterous, and we couldn’t imagine our family without you.  your brother adores you and delights in caring for you, playing with you, and entertaining you!  can’t wait to celebrate your birthday in a couple of weeks!!!

    10 month maggie

10 months!  i cant believe it.  ive already started planning our girl’s birthday party.  eek!

    IMG_1185 IMG_1195 IMG_1196

In the past month, maggie’s learning seems to have really opened up.  she says “mama”! all day everyday!  she was saying “dada” as well but that has slumped a bit. she knows how to play peek-a-book, clap (say yay!), identify our faces in pictures, rolling a ball back and forth (or in her case , throwing), wave, and boy does she know how to scream!  she particularly does not getting cleaned up after meals.  my favorite new thing is probably her “dancing”.  she puts her hands up and wiggles her head.  her favorite songs are “coming home” by leon bridges and “in the garden” by daniel martin moore.

i’ve given her puffs and she is obsessed!  she gets so excited when she sees that container!  her favorite foods are still sweet potato, peas, and peaches.  her finger foods are limited to puffs and banana.  she now eats 3 meals a day and still nurses 4-5 times a day!

maggie’s sleep is still inconsistent at night.  but we’re working on it! but she is on a really consistent schedule 7-7 during the day.  maggie takes a long morning nap at 9 and a long afternoon nap around 1 -2.  whenever i peak in on her she is sleeping on her side and she seems to be following in her brother’s footsteps and likes to sleep with multiple pacis and her little pink bear.

    maggie had her first haircut!

a big change this month is that big brother is at school during the day.  maggie seems to enjoy our strolls to the bus stop in the morning and afternoon.  while jackson has been at school, it has given maggie the opportunity to have a more established schedule, and a little bit more time with me, i can tell she is really excited to see him when he’s home.  she has started hugging him around his neck and he LOVES it.  she patted his back the other day when hugging him and jackson was over the moon!

maggie seems to really like animals, can identify a dog in a book, and at times has seemed like she is trying to say it.  she also has a different word/ sound for the vacuum, another one of her favorite things!  dumping toys is still a favorite past time, she loves music, and when we are out and about she loves to hold mama’s keys.

she is such a fun baby!  we enjoy her so much!
