2018 in Review

I’ve said for a long time that I don’t really like New Year’s.  I realized that I don’t especially like going out on New Year’s Eve but I LOVE the New Year.  I love thinking of exciting and fresh goals for the year and so far this year I have particularly enjoyed looking back on 2018.  It wasn’t necessarily a significant year for me “goal-wise” but  I did grow and give birth to a third human, so there’s that.  This year will definitely go down in the books as a big one for us.  The year four suttons became five.  Maggie learned to swim and spell her name.  Jackson played basketball and had not one but two casts!  We played in the snow, hiked in the mountains, swam in the ocean, played at the Y, went to parks, painted, read, went to the library, played with our neighbors.  It was a year of baby prep and baby cuddles.

Can’t wait to see how these three grow and surprise us in 2019.

We had a really nice Thanksgiving as a family of 5 (that’s still crazy!)

Christmas Tree Farm 2018

Jackson and Maggie were more interested in the s’mores and playing hide and seek amongst the rows of trees than picking out the tree, but we got our first tree as a family of 5 (!).  It smells delightful and I have the perfect view from my favorite spot on the couch.

big girl haircut

It may have been a long time coming, but Maggie got a pretty significant haircut last friday.  She did so great and i love how it looks.

Maggie’s new wheels

Maggie really wanted a bike for her birthday and even picked it out online with her dad.  (The pink one!) I knew it was going to be a little tricky for her to get used to it and it has been but she has really worked hard the past few days and is getting it!  She said, “its so fun!  I love it!”.  I have to admit, it has been a little challenging for me to hold back a little and let her get it on her own time and I had some moments of pushing her a little bit for sure.  Overall though, she has started riding progressively on her own time.  So proud of you Maggie Grace!

weekend update

I took the girls (thats fun to say) to High Point for a quick trip on Friday night.  Maggie loves a good sleepover.

My main reason for the impromptu trip was to visit Grandmommy and give Willa some time with her.  Grandmommy’s first time holding Willa!
