weekend in high point

we are getting ready for a really fun weekend, but first i want to remember what we did last weekend!  i couldn’t even remember the last time i had been to my parents’ house and since the office was closed for moving i took the opportunity to visit high point.  we left right after school on friday.  we helped decorate the tree, ate lots of treats, saw Grandmommy, and visited old salem!  mom and dad spoiled as….. as usual.

it was fun to take the kids to old salem, i always liked going and i had been wanting to take them at christmas time.  we had a great time.  mom and dad treated us to a wonderful lunch at the tavern and we loaded up on treats at the bakery.  my kids ask A LOT of questions.  they loved running in the town square.

it was special to stop by the college and academy where grandmommy attended in the 1930s (and jean in 1996 🙂

thanks mom and dad, we love you!

Scenes from a Snow (mainly ice) Weekend

It’s been a cozy weekend so far! We have enjoyed playing around the house, good food, a brief time outside (extremely brief for Maggie), video games, movies, puzzles for Maggie, legos for Jackson, book reading for mommy, and server building for daddy. It’s so cold Maggie is even wearing slippers today! Brrr!

Visit with Meme and GDad

We had a visit to Meme and G-Dad’s house last weekend to celebrate all three grandkids’ fall birthdays.  We had a nice day catching up and celebrating.  I, as usual it seems, forgot to bring my camera out until the end of the day so I only got a few pictures.  Happy birthday Emma-Chase, Jackson, and Maggie!

Dedication Sunday

This morning we had the honor of dedicating our lives as parents to the discipleship of our sweet Maggie.  We were so blessed to have our family with us to support us.  After church we had a picnic and playtime at our favorite “dragon park”.  It was a really sweet day!

Some weekend fall fun

We enjoyed some gorgeous weather this weekend. Thankful for sunshine, and cousins, and all the fall things. Maggie are her first regular hot dog, refused to go on a hayride, and loved the dirt trucks best of all at the pumpkin patch. Jackson continues to surprise me with his independence and love of all things exciting as he did the harness jump thing at the pumpkin patch and had another sleepover with cousins.
